Interview conducted and transcribed by Alex Schab
Hey, great job during the mix. Now on air you said that your parent’s were your greatest musical influence, do you want to elaborate on that a bit?
Well, I grew up in a very musical family. More than listening to records, I heard my parents jamming.
So there aren’t any other groups out there who influenced you?(laughs) Well, I have a lot of records now! I’ve been pretty into Fairpoint Convention lately.
So while on your website last night, I saw that you were signed to the Rough Trade label. That has some really big names on it, have you checked any of those guys out?
I kind of live in a cave. (laughs) I really don’t have a lot of records. Maybe I should ask them for some free stuff.
For sure. So what was it like growing up in Nevada City? Has the impacted your music at all?
Growing up there definitely has effected what I sing about. If I had grown up in a city, I definitely would not be making the same music.
