WERS 88.9 fm - album review: nina music - shake, shake, shake

When listening to Nina Music's children's CD, it's easy to get wrapped up in the funny and unique lyrics (my personal favorite is the song "Pickle" with lyrics "You can't put a pickle in a pie/That's not a good thing, oh, my/It might make you giggle, or jump up and wiggle/So don't put a pickle in a pie!"). But let's face it: most children's artists spend their careers trying to be more unique and funny than the next. Nina Music isdifferent. She takes her kids tunes and balances them with... depth? That's right. While Nina spends time in the studio, she also spends time honing a program that merges music and skills like rhyming, counting, and following directions. She offers a six-session program that gives children experience with a variety of instruments from bongos to egg-shakers. So, while you're making a mental note to keep your pickles out of your pies, you should also consider giving her a call to learn a thing or two. Make sure to listen to her in studio performance on July 10, at 6 p.m. on the Playground!
