Sometimes musical reviews can be tough to wrap your head around. You’re often left thinking what is the theme here, or how does this particular song fit into that theme? Edges, A Song Cycle is a beautiful review about growth and the process of finding one’s self. With music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, Edges, A Song Cycle explores a range of young characters and the personal growth and obstacles they face. Edges, A Song Cycle is about as contemporary as they come, featuring songs about facebook friendship and infatuation. The songs present a tall order to the singers singing them, as many of them are high energy and require a phenomenal range. This being the case, the talent involved on this soundtrack is mesmerizing. Songs like Part of A Painting and Ready To Be Loved will leave you in tears and inspire you at the same time. read more... |
