WERS 88.9 fm - Performance Wrap-Up: Love In Stockholm
February 8th, 2009
Boston-based Love in Stockholm headlined the Middle East downstairs, but not before premiering the new video for their song "Ordinary Man" and celebrating the launch of their new official website. The pre-show crowd consisted of press and close friends of the band, in addition to an array of enthusiastic fans. Love in Stockholm (consisting of vocalist Charlie Rockwell, guitarist Brendy McBrien, guitarist Neil Clark, saxophonist Dave Carroll, keyboardist Evan Sanders, bassist Alex Staley, and drummer Jesse Humphrey) are fresh off the release of their 2009 EP, Too Much Love, and already working on their upcoming LP (to be released by Summer 2010). Coming straight out of Allston, Mass., their unique jazz-rock fusion combined with their dynamic live shows and constant touring of the area has made the band a local favorite.
The video for "Ordinary Man," produced by Ten One Productions, a new company with Emerson alumni Garrett Williams and Erin Palin, and the video can be seen on Love in Stockholm's brand new official site (loveinstockholm.com). Following the premiere, the band did an acoustic live set of several songs off their EP, including "Beauty Fades" and, of course, "Ordinary Man."
"I thought it went really well," said front man Rockwell. "It seemed like people were really into the video and we put a lot of time into planning this, so it was good to see people come out." Now, with a shiny new music video and a fresh website, not to mention the upcoming release of their anticipated full-length, listeners can expect to start really feeling the love.
